We witness the sobering power of nature every year. Earthquakes, tsunamis, fires, and tornadoes light up emotionally distancing news feeds, but the Disaster Response Mission aims to be a flashlight for others when the power goes out. If you have watched from afar and always wanted to lend a hand in the wake of a storm, now is your chance.

-- Our National SDA Church has accepted the mission of providing food and supplies for major disaster victims. We send trained volunteers to run warehouses and distribution centers as needed, in cooperation with FEMA. Local SDA churches organize volunteer training and provide donations of specific supplies and money for such major needs.

-- Our Sunnyvale Church supports this National mission and also provides help to families in local disasters, as well as training to help a family prepare for emergencies, such as earthquakes and wildfires. Each family should have a three-day supply of water, food, and other supplies to be self-sufficient in an emergency. That will also enable them to reach out to minister to neighbors in need.

Contact Greig Rose (greigrose@earthlink.net) if you are interested in aiding our church and your neighbors train and plan for disaster, and promote preparedness.
